Mike founded Red Zone HR in 2009 and serves as the president but Mike is very much a hands-on HR consultant to our clients.
Mike has over 20 years in human resource leadership positions in manufacturing, software and hardware development, forest products, and high-tech including five years as the Vice President of Human Resources for Digimarc Corporation, a global high-tech company providing IT solutions in digital watermarking and secure credentials. Mike has extensive experience in building the HR infrastructure from the ground up and building high performance team based work systems.
Mike is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Oregon State College.
Mike grew up in Eastern Oregon and has lived up and down the West Coast. Mike and his wife are empty nesters with two grown two boys. Mike is active in the community serving on boards, enjoys traveling, tasting wine, and cider.
A Southern California native, Claudette has over 15 years of payroll experience within the real estate, property management, recruiting, homebuilding and management consulting industries. Claudette has extensive experience in a broad range of office systems and highly responsible roles with emphasis on Payroll Processing. She has a proven track record for building strong customer relationships and communicating effectively across all levels of an organization.
An accounting graduate from Cal State Fullerton, she found her passion with payroll because it deals with both the numbers side as well as the human resources side. She is currently studying for her CPP and her PHR certification and hopes to be certified by 2020. With only a few classes left she also hopes to complete her MBA with an emphasis in Human Resources. Working in Payroll for so many years, she has learned that being well rounded helps make her job more rewarding.
When she’s not busy with work and studying she is caring for her family. Claudette and her husband are avid Los Angeles Lakers fans, so they are always rooting for her team to win another championship. They love going to Disneyland with their 2 young children and traveling to new places. They also have 2 shih tzus that love to play and keep them busy.
Nancy is a seasoned HR business partner and generalist and has been with us since 2014. She has over 17 years of hands-on experience spanning every critical function of human resources including employee relations; training and employee development; compensation planning; employment law and compliance; talent acquisition; benefits administration; and workforce planning
Nancy has worked directly for or consultant for clients across a variety of industries including information technology, engineering, higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, retail, and non-profit.
Nancy has a proven track record of creating positive, productive relationships with clients and helping them to build policies and employment practices that are fully compliant with laws and regulations, but also align with the organization’s strategy, culture, and goals.

When not working, Nancy keeps busy and active chasing her twins around. She also loves dogs (even the cranky kind), hiking, listening to podcasts, reading, dancing, gardening, and enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Karyn is a HR Generalist who joined Red Zone in 2019 with 10 years of experience providing HR support to various types of manufacturing; from biotech to residential wood products. She has also worked as a recruiter and trainer in the staffing industry. She is passionate about workplace culture and employee engagement and excels in building strong relationships with her customers by seeking to understand their business fully so that she can provide solutions that align with their goals.
Karyn has a degree in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and was previously certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) with HRCI.
Outside of work, you’ll find Karyn hiking with her 100 lb. Bernedoodle, teaching Art Lit in her elementary aged childrens’ classrooms, camping, cycling and practicing yoga.
Jeanine has been part of our team since 2015 serving as a payroll and benefits consultant to our clients. Jeanine is a certified payroll professional through the American Payroll Association and has 30 years of payroll and benefits experience including serving as the payroll manager for a global energy company in Houston, TX for over 20 years. Besides knowing payroll inside and out, Jeanine has strong HR technology background and handles a lot of the payroll, time and HR systems set ups for us.
Coming from Houston, Jeanine and her husband are avid Astros, Texans and Rockets fans. They enjoy traveling and visiting family through country.
Ashley has worked in various HR functions since 2012 with different industries such as health care, construction, manufacturing, and the food/distribution industry. Over the years she have found her passion in recruiting and the talent acquisition world. But she also enjoys assisting companies with positive employee relations and company culture.
Ashley graduated from University of Wisconsin Green Bay with a degree in Human Development and Interdisciplinary studies.
When not at work, Ashley enjoys her time with my husband, two kids and their animals They love all animals! Specially their two dogs, 1 cat and two Guinea pigs which were all rescued. They are very passionate about the outdoors for enjoyment and conservation efforts and have enjoyed Oregon very much since relocating here. They are always planning our next adventure, whether it’s a day trip or gone for the weekend. Ashley has a love of music and playing her Ukulele.
